For example, the Pacific Coast Highway is only 2 or 3 minutes' drive to the south, and beyond that is Crystal Cove State Park. Corona del Mar Village is approximately 5 minutes, or 3 miles, up the highway, and Newport Centre is just a few minutes beyond that for upmarket shopping and entertainment. The University of California Irvine is only 10 minutes, or 4 miles, northwest of Pelican Heights.
