Cameo Highlands

Cameo Highlands is a small neighborhood located in Corona del Mar and Newport Beach, California. The community is accessible by taking Cameo Highlands Drive north off the Pacific Coast Highway. Cameo Highlands real estate consists of approximately 150 single-family homes, many of which have stunning views of the ocean. Due to the beautiful homes and excellent location, homes for sale in Cameo Highlands tend to fetch prices upwards of $2 million.

 

Cameo Highlands is located approximately 1 mile southeast of central Corona del Mar, and 5 miles (or 10 minutes) southeast of central Newport Beach. The community lies to the north of the Pacific Coast Highway, across from Cameo Shores, and within walking distance of the ocean beyond that.

 

The communities of Corona Highlands and Corona del Mar Villas lies to the northwest of Cameo Highlands, and the rest is surrounded by the Pelican Hill Golf Course.

 

Cameo Highlands itself consists of 7 streets branching off the main central drive, and 8 streets in total. Only one street ends in a cul de sac: Rockford Place. 

 

The original homes of Cameo Highlands go back to the 1960s. However, there have been a number of additions and rebuilds since. As a result, homes in Cameo Highlands display an excellent blend of styles and designs, as all units are custom.

 

Architectural styles on display include classic California Modern, with low-pitched roofs, cool colors, glass walls, and clerestory windows; Mediterranean Villas, with typical terracotta tile roofs and earthy stucco exteriors; and finally, modern or transitional beach cottage styles, with grey and blue shingles and round windows.

 

Home prices in Cameo Highlands are upwards of $2 million, with many valued at more than $5 million. One look and you'll agree that they are worth every penny. The combination of immaculate landscaping, beautiful pools, stunning ocean views, and fantastic location - Cameo Highlands is hard to beat if you're in the market for the Southern Californian luxury lifestyle.

 

Most homes in Cameo Highlands are only one level high, allowing for unobstructed views from each property as they climb the hill north. The community achieves this while maintaining the utmost in privacy and seclusion for each property. 

 

Cameo Highlands boasts a long list of highlights and area attractions, thanks to its prime location near the heart of Corona del Mar, Newport Beach, and the Southern Californian coastline. 

 

As such, Cameo Highlands itself has little need (or space) for amenities of its own. The one exception is Surrey Park - a small playground at the northern end of the community. This park is also adjacent to a gate, granting access to the beautiful Pelican Hill Golf Course. This Golf Course is a major attraction for this community. If you're a golfer, you should seriously consider living in Cameo Highlands. And if you're not - this is the best reason to start!

 

Crystal Cove State Park is a short distance south, offering miles of unspoiled beaches and trails.

 

Further afield, residents of Cameo Highlands live within minutes of Newport Center, for a multitude of entertainment and retail options.

 

Other nearby parks include Jasmine View Park, Begonia Park, Irvine Terrace Park, and Buck Gully Reserve.

 

Students in Cameo Highlands can attend Harbor View Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Harbor Day School, and Newport Coast Elementary. The nearest high schools are Sage Hill, Laguna Beach, and Newport Harbor.

 

For tertiary students, the University of California Irvine is approximately 10 minutes north.
