Urban Arts OC is a creative co-op art studio that offers classes for beginners and advanced artists alike. I recently started my toddler-aged twins in kids' art classes here - and it was a hit!
Urban Arts OC is conveniently located in Newport Beach, near the John Wayne Airport, just off the 73 freeway and Birch Street.
As soon as you enter you'll immediately vibe this funky, inspirational workspace with its great sense of community. The interior is one giant workroom with long communal tables inviting artists to share in their creativity.
The kids' art classes at Urban Arts OC consist of working with different mediums and exploring freely but with a focus. I had initially thought the class was an hour long, until I realized that my kids had been sitting there for another 30 minutes - still fully engrossed - when their art teacher said, "wow look at the time, time to wrap up!"
For two toddlers to sit focused on art projects for an hour and a half and still not be ready to leave, well, you know they are doing something right! Activities at Urban Arts OC are a wonderful break for just about anyone who would like to let their creativity flourish and take a break from the monotony of a normal day!
